Okay im going to Guatemala and I dont live near a hot spot location there and want internet. I have a MacBook OS X. So can I buy a card to stick in it from verizon or at&t? or should i set up wi-fi in my house?

you could buy a network card,
from AT&T
or Sprint.

I remember a friend of mine had a Sony Vaio and he used a card from Telefonica (1mbps) but i am not sure if verizon supports international services in rural areas here ……….
